Ntesports Renews Sponsorship of TakeBackControl as Grassroots Support Continues

Ntesports is delighted to announce the renewal of its sponsorship of Chicago-based esports organisation TakeBackControl, continuing a relationship built around a shared belief in opportunity, development and the importance of grassroots esports.
Founded in December 2022, TakeBackControl has grown from an ambitious young organisation into an increasingly established presence within the competitive esports community. From the beginning, its focus has been on doing things differently, creating opportunities for players and creators, and building an organisation where emerging talent has the chance to develop.
Those values align closely with our own philosophy at Ntesports, which is why we are incredibly pleased to continue supporting them.
Supporting Esports From the Grassroots Up
At Ntesports, our work has always extended beyond education and commercial projects. We strongly believe that a healthy esports ecosystem needs opportunities at every level – from the classroom and community through to grassroots competition and ultimately professional careers.
That is why we actively support grassroots organisations both in the UK and internationally.
Our sponsorship programme has allowed us to work with teams and organisations in the UK, United States and Africa, providing not only financial sponsorship but also advice, mentoring, industry connections and practical support.
For us, sponsorship isn’t simply about putting the Ntesports logo on a jersey. It’s about building relationships with people who are passionate about esports and helping them create something sustainable.
TakeBackControl is a great example of that.
A New Chapter for TakeBackControl
The renewal comes at an exciting time for the organisation as it enters the next stage of its development.
Following a period of restructuring and strategic review, TakeBackControl has been strengthening its approach to recruitment, player development, competitive performance and community engagement.
A major part of this next chapter is the recruitment of a new professional Overwatch 2 roster, with the selected team being officially revealed on 31 August 2026.
The organisation’s ambitions go much further than simply putting teams into competitions. TakeBackControl wants to create an environment where players can develop, collaborate and gain meaningful experience within esports, while continuing to build its community and explore new opportunities across competitive gaming and content creation.
That approach is something we are very happy to support.
Creating Opportunities Through Esports
Grassroots esports has always been particularly important to us because it is often where opportunities begin.
Through our work in education, we’ve seen first-hand how esports can develop confidence, teamwork, communication, leadership and digital skills. We’ve also seen young people progress from studying esports into creating teams, businesses, events and careers of their own.
Supporting grassroots organisations is therefore a natural extension of what we do within education.
Whether we’re helping a college establish an esports programme, developing curriculum and teaching resources, supporting educators, sponsoring a young organisation or connecting people across our international network, the objective is fundamentally the same: to create opportunities through esports.
TakeBackControl’s willingness to evolve, take risks and create its own path reflects much of what grassroots esports is about.
We’re proud to remain part of their journey and look forward to seeing what this next chapter brings.
