Ntesports Partners with NEURO to Champion Neurodiversity in Esports and Education
At Ntesports, we’ve always believed that esports is about far more than playing games. It creates opportunities to build confidence, develop transferable skills, strengthen communities and open doors into education and future careers. That’s why we’re delighted to announce our partnership with NEURO, an organisation dedicated to helping businesses and educational institutions recognise, understand and unlock the potential of neurodivergent people.
The partnership is a natural fit.
Esports has long been recognised as a space where many neurodivergent individuals feel they belong. The structured environments, digital interactions and problem-solving nature of competitive gaming can align with the way many autistic people, and others who are neurodivergent, naturally think and learn. Yet too often the conversation focuses only on support needs, rather than the incredible strengths neurodivergent people bring.
Neurodivergent people bring the same breadth and variety of capability as any other group. For some, this may include particularly strong pattern recognition, sustained focus, systems thinking, creativity or rapid problem-solving, all qualities that can be highly relevant across esports, education and the wider digital industries. The point is not that a diagnosis guarantees a particular strength. It is that people’s capabilities are frequently overlooked when learning environments, communication styles and progression pathways are designed around one assumed way of thinking and participating.

Creating genuinely inclusive environments is about more than making adjustments; it’s about recognising that different minds contribute different perspectives, and that diversity of thought makes organisations, classrooms and communities stronger.
This shared belief sits at the heart of the partnership between Ntesports and NEURO
Co-founded by Robert and Melissa Annis, who are both neurodivergent, NEURO combines lived experience with Robert’s work as an organisational psychologist and Melissa’s as a change expert.
They help leaders examine the systems, workplace cultures and organisational practices that either enable or unintentionally suppress neurodivergent talent. Their work focuses on creating environments where people can participate fully, develop confidence, build meaningful careers and realise their potential.
For Ntesports, this partnership is also deeply personal.
Managing Director Nik Turner has an autistic son and has seen first-hand both the unique strengths neurodivergent young people possess and the challenges they can face when educational environments fail to recognise or nurture those strengths. Throughout his career in education and esports, Nik has been passionate about creating opportunities for learners who may not always thrive within traditional educational models.
Esports has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to engage students who have previously struggled with mainstream education, particularly those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Many schools, colleges and universities have found that esports provides a platform where learners develop communication, teamwork, leadership, confidence and technical skills while feeling part of a supportive community.
Supporting neurodivergent learners has therefore become a natural extension of Ntesports’ wider mission to make esports education accessible, inclusive and meaningful for everyone.
