How the career framework WORks

Start with the Career Directory to explore individual roles, then use the supporting documents to understand the wider career landscape and the evidence behind the framework. Each document has a different purpose, so you can choose the level of detail you need.

The Esports Career Framework – Career Directory
Your starting point for exploring 370 careers across 19 domains. Each profile introduces the role, relevant skills, possible working environments, entry routes and progression options. Browse by domain or search for a career title to find roles that interest you.

The Esports Career Framework Domain Guide
Explore how careers fit together within each domain. The guide adds context to the individual profiles, explaining shared skills, working environments, development routes and changes that may affect the work. Use it to support teaching, careers discussions and comparisons between related roles.

ECF Sources & Evidence Notes
Understand the evidence supporting the career profiles and its limitations. This document explains what the retained sources support, where evidence comes from related industries and where qualifications or professional requirements need particular attention.

ECF Source Register
Find the references behind the framework. Source codes in the career profiles, such as SRC-RIOT-JOBS, connect to entries in the register, where you can find source details and links. Use it alongside the Sources & Evidence Notes when you want to investigate the supporting evidence more closely.

For most students and teachers, the Career Directory and Domain Guide will be the main resources. The Sources & Evidence Notes and Source Register provide the supporting detail for anyone who wants to look further.
