New Sponsorship Deal with Aldershot Girls Under 16’s Football Club

Ntesports Steps Beyond Esports with New Grassroots Girls' Football Sponsorship
Ntesports is delighted to announce a slightly different addition to our growing grassroots sponsorship programme – becoming the new sponsor of Aldershot Boys & Girls FC U16 Girls for the 2026/27 season.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Football. Not esports!
For a company whose name and reputation have been built around esports and education, this might initially seem like a step in a different direction. In reality, it fits perfectly with what Ntesports has always stood for: supporting young people, creating opportunities and investing in grassroots communities.
Our sponsorship has enabled the team to begin the new season with brand-new home and away kits, proudly carrying the Ntesports name.
And we think they look fantastic!
From Esports to Traditional Sport
There has been a debate for as long as we can remember about the relationship between esports and traditional sports – including, of course, the inevitable question of whether esports should even be considered a sport.
For us, that debate sometimes overlooks just how much the two worlds have in common.
Competition. Teamwork. Communication. Strategy. Coaching. Performance. Resilience. Leadership. Community.
Whether you’re walking onto a football pitch or sitting down for a competitive esports match, many of the values surrounding participation are remarkably similar.
Our work within esports education has always focused on far more than playing games. It’s about giving young people opportunities to belong, develop skills, build confidence, compete, make friendships and discover what they are capable of.
Grassroots sport does exactly the same thing.
That’s why branching out into traditional sport doesn’t feel like moving away from our philosophy. It feels like extending it.
Why Girls’ Football?
There’s another reason we’re particularly pleased that our first sponsorship outside esports is a girls’ team.
Women’s football has undergone an extraordinary transformation, and the Lionesses have been at the heart of it. Their back-to-back European Championship victories have inspired a generation and demonstrated what can happen when talented female players are given the platform, investment and recognition they deserve.
Ntesports Managing Director Nik Turner is also a huge Lionesses fan, making this particular partnership even more meaningful.
“I’ve always believed that grassroots sponsorship should be about more than getting your logo seen. It should help create opportunities. I’m a massive Lionesses fan and what they’ve achieved – winning back-to-back European Championships and inspiring so many young girls to get involved in football – has been incredible to watch. So when the opportunity arose to support a local U16 girls’ team, it just felt right. Esports and traditional sport may look very different, but the teamwork, confidence, competition, friendships and sense of belonging they can give young people are incredibly similar.”
Growing Our Grassroots Commitment
This latest partnership represents another step in a grassroots sponsorship programme that has become an increasingly important part of Ntesports.
Earlier this year, we renewed our support for CZY Esports in Kenya, where Nik travelled in April to support events and meet with the Esports Kenya Federation to explore opportunities to support the continued growth of esports in Africa.
More recently, we announced the renewal of our partnership with TakeBackControl in Chicago, followed by our biggest-ever sponsorship agreement with CTRL Esports in the UK, an organisation created by former students Nik originally taught through the BTEC Esports programme.
Now we’re adding grassroots girls’ football to that story.
Different countries. Different communities. Different games.
The philosophy behind them is the same.
We want to use the growth of Ntesports to give something back.
Starting the Season in Style
The timing couldn’t be better for the Aldershot U16 Girls.
The team enters the 2026/27 season with a full squad and recently completed its pre-season preparations with an excellent performance at the Winchester tournament, reaching the Plate Final and finishing as runners-up against strong opposition.
Now, with their new home and away kits ready, attention turns to the league campaign and what promises to be an exciting season ahead.
Team manager Rob Hawden said:
“Sponsorship makes a genuine difference at grassroots level and we’re incredibly grateful to Ntesports for supporting the girls this season. Having a partner that shares our commitment to young people and grassroots opportunities makes it particularly meaningful. The new home and away kits look fantastic, the girls are proud to wear them, and we’re looking forward to representing both ABGFC and Ntesports throughout the season.”
More Than a Logo on a Shirt
As Ntesports continues to grow, we want our success to enable us to support more people and organisations doing positive things within their communities.
Sometimes that will be an esports organisation in Chicago.
Sometimes it will mean travelling to Kenya to support grassroots esports development.
Sometimes it will be backing former students as they build their own esports organisation.
And sometimes, as it turns out, it’ll mean seeing the Ntesports logo running around a football pitch on a Saturday morning!
We’re very comfortable with that.
Because ultimately, grassroots support isn’t about whether the competition takes place on a screen or on a pitch.
It’s about the people taking part and the opportunities we can help create for them.
We’re incredibly proud to welcome Aldershot Boys & Girls FC U16 Girls to the Ntesports family and wish Rob, the players and everyone associated with the team a fantastic 2026/27 season.
Good luck, girls! ⚽
