Educators and Industry Unite at ‘Game On’

The Rise of Esports in Education
Ntesports was delighted to attend Game On: The Rise of Esports in Education, hosted by Ibstock Place School & Yoyotech, where Managing Director Nik Turner had the privilege of delivering the keynote address to educators, schools and industry professionals exploring the continued growth of esports within education.
Opening the event, Nik reflected on the journey of esports in education over the past decade, highlighting its impact on student engagement, inclusion, employability and the growing recognition of esports as a valuable educational pathway.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to share ideas, discuss best practice and highlight the many ways esports is creating meaningful opportunities for young people across schools and colleges.
A huge thank you goes to Jacob Southwood, Amy Louise Cartwright and Ralph Barton, whose hard work and organisation ensured the day was both welcoming and insightful. Their efforts created an environment that encouraged collaboration and open discussion between delegates from across the sector.
The programme featured a range of engaging presentations and panel discussions. Bubba Gaeddert delivered an interactive session exploring careers within the esports industry, while Lizzie Squires gave an inspiring presentation focusing on the importance of increasing opportunities for girls and women in gaming and esports.
Attendees also benefited from two thought-provoking panel discussions covering curriculum development, implementing esports programmes in schools, the opportunities esports presents for learners, and real-world experiences from education providers already delivering successful initiatives.
Beyond the presentations, the event provided valuable networking opportunities, allowing educators and industry representatives to reconnect with colleagues, establish new partnerships and continue important conversations about the future of esports in education.
Reflecting on the event, it was clear just how far esports education has progressed in recent years. The enthusiasm, expertise and willingness to collaborate demonstrated throughout the day reinforce the growing recognition of esports as a valuable educational pathway and the collective commitment to delivering high-quality opportunities for young people.
Ntesports would like to thank everyone involved in making the event such a success and looks forward to continuing to support the growth of esports education across the UK.
