Windlesham House Hosts Inaugural Inter-School Esports Tournament with NTesports and Special Guests
Monday 30th June 2025 marked an exciting milestone in school esports as Windlesham House School hosted its first-ever inter-school esports tournament, welcoming pupils from Yateley Manor School and Holmewood House Schoolfor a day of friendly competition, learning, and inspiration.
The tournament brought together three forward-thinking schools, with Andrew Hardy-Lenik representing Yateley Manor and Peter Meier leading Holmewood House. The day was a celebration of teamwork, digital skill-building, and community spirit—all under the banner of esports in education.
The event was supported by a stellar lineup of special guests, including Nik Turner, Director of NTesports, and Michael ‘Odee’ O’Dell, GB Esports Team Manager and one of the UK’s most recognised figures in the industry. Both were on hand to inspire the pupils and champion the educational value of esports.
“The energy and enthusiasm from the students were incredible,” said Nik Turner. “They weren’t just great competitors—they even helped me carry the gear from the car! It’s brilliant to see young people so engaged, not only in playing but in being part of the full event experience.”
The atmosphere was one of friendly rivalry and shared excitement, with pupils showcasing their communication, strategy, and leadership skills in a structured and supportive environment.
A huge thank you goes to Andrew Calas of Windlesham House for leading the charge and making the day such a success. Special appreciation is also due to Adam Phillips at Corsair, who provided fantastic prizes to support the event, alongside contributions from NTesports, Yoyotech – Esports for Education, AOC International Europe B.V. (with thanks to Paul Butler), and MSI (thanks to Adrian Liu).
This tournament is a shining example of how esports can foster valuable life skills and bring schools together in a meaningful way. With growing interest from independent and state schools alike, initiatives like this continue to highlight the educational power of esports.
NTesports is proud to support pioneering events like this, and we look forward to seeing more schools take up the controller and step into the future of learning.
