SCL Enigmaz x Guild College: Viper’s Chamber Valorant Tournament Concludes with Thrilling Competition

The inaugural Viper’s Chamber Valorant Tournament, an innovative student-led esports event, has successfully concluded, leaving a lasting impact on participants and spectators alike. organised by SCL Enigmaz college students as part of their BTEC Unit 5: Esports Event assignment, this groundbreaking competition blended high-level gameplay, community engagement, and charitable efforts in an electrifying showcase of talent.

Held at the state-of-the-art Sky Guild Gaming Centre, the event was meticulously crafted to provide an optimal experience for competitors and viewers. Named “Viper’s Chamber,” the tournament drew inspiration from two of Valorant’s most iconic agents: Viper, symbolising resilience and cunning, and Chamber, representing strategic precision. The title also reflected the venue’s aesthetic, featuring metal gating reminiscent of a chamber, adding to the immersive atmosphere of the competition.
Competitive Showdown and Champions Crowned

Taking place on January 28th, with preparations beginning the day prior, the Viper’s Chamber Tournament featured a double-elimination format, ensuring intense and strategic gameplay across all matches. Four formidable teams participated in the tournament: London Legion (College of Esports), Conel Cyphons (Capital City College), City, University of London, and Weston College. Each squad brought their best strategies and skills, culminating in a series of gripping matchups.
After an intense series of games, London Legion (College of Esports) emerged victorious, claiming the tournament title. The competition not only showcased raw talent but also highlighted the strategic depth and teamwork that Valorant demands from its players.
Prizes and Recognition

To raise the stakes, the event featured an impressive array of prizes, including Amazon gift cards,  high-end gaming monitors and peripherals from MSI and some goodies from Corsair. NTesports provided additional rewards, including the MVP award, which was bestowed upon ‘Avey’ from the CONEL Cyphers for his outstanding performance and game-changing plays.
The tournament was also live-streamed on Twitch, ensuring a wider audience could experience the excitement and energy of the event in real-time.

Community and Charity Impact

Beyond the competition, the Viper’s Chamber Tournament carried a deeper purpose. Donations were collected online in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital, reinforcing the event’s commitment to giving back to the community. This initiative showcased the students’ dedication to using esports as a platform for positive change.

The Sky Guild Gaming Centre provided an exceptional environment for the tournament. Its main event space featured professional-grade gaming stations, breakout practice areas for teams to strategise, and dedicated rooms for live casting and match observation. Spectators enjoyed a comfortable viewing area, while an interview space allowed for insightful post-match discussions and player reflections.
