QM Samurai backed by Ntesports

Ntesports, an educational consultancy and grassroots supporter within the esports industry, is excited to announce the extension of its shirt sponsorship deal with QM Samurai, the college esports team for Queen Mary’s College (QMC) in Basingstoke. This extension marks another year of collaboration, solidifying Ntesports’ commitment to supporting the next generation of esports talent.

The design of the QM Samurai jersey for this year embraces the team’s ‘yokai’ theme, inspired by Japanese folklore monsters and mythical creatures.

The front of the jersey evokes a traditional yet mystical Japanese aesthetic, featuring intricate patterns that symbolize the legendary creatures of Japan.

The back of the jersey showcases all the yokai associated with the team, creating a powerful visual representation of the team’s unique identity and connection to Japan’s rich folklore.

This design not only reflects the team’s spirit but also adds a cultural depth to their esports journey.

The shirt has been designed between the current Esports Lead at Queen Mary’s College Stuart Folkes, the students and the team at ESK.

The latest shirt represents the continued relationship between the college, ESK and Ntesports.

The partnership, which began in September 2023, has seen Ntesports proudly featured on the QM Samurai jerseys, offering students the opportunity to purchase their team shirts at a discounted rate. Nik Turner, Managing Director of Ntesports and former Head of Esports at QMC, expressed his enthusiasm for continuing this sponsorship and reinforcing the company’s dedication to grassroots esports.

“After three amazing years at QMC, it was sad to say goodbye, but it was the right thing for me,” said Turner. “My company had sponsored the QM Samurai jersey from September 2023 to give students the chance to buy their own jersey at a discounted rate, and I’m delighted to be able to continue that sponsorship for another year. Grassroots esports is so important, and even more important is that the industry gets behind the scene to maximise its sustainability and to give young people the opportunity to develop and succeed in esports.”

QM Samurai has established a reputation within the collegiate esports scene, but after a disappointing season the British Esports Student Championships they’ll be looking to bounce back with Queen Mary’s College being a pioneering institution for esports education. Under Turner’s leadership, the college became one of the UK’s top destinations for students aspiring to a career in esports. The continued sponsorship by Ntesports provides invaluable support to the students and showcases the company’s belief in nurturing grassroots talent.

Ntesports has consistently demonstrated its commitment to grassroots esports, not only through its partnership with QM Samurai but also by sponsoring several other emerging teams globally. Among them are Take Back Control in Chicago, CZY Esports in Kenya, and CTRL Esports in the UK. These partnerships reflect Ntesports’ global vision of supporting and empowering young gamers and fostering sustainability in the esports landscape.

Supporting Grassroots Esports on a Global Scale

Ntesports is well-known for its work within grassroots esports, and its impact is not confined to the UK. The company’s sponsorship of teams across three continents illustrates its dedication to building an inclusive and diverse esports ecosystem.  Ntesports believes in the importance of supporting smaller, local teams, which often struggle to secure the funding and recognition that more established esports organisations enjoy.

Turner’s experience at Queen Mary’s College has given him firsthand knowledge of the challenges that young esports players face, and he has carried this insight into his work at Ntesports. The company continues to prioritise providing opportunities for aspiring esports professionals, whether through team sponsorships or its comprehensive range of educational resources.

“Grassroots esports is the lifeblood of the industry,” Turner added. “It’s crucial that companies like ours support these young talents, offering them the platforms and resources to succeed. We want to ensure that esports remains accessible and viable for the next generation, and sponsorships like this are just one way we can contribute to that mission.”
